Bruce: I'm not comparing Twitter to Facebook, I do get how they're both different.

Erin: My guess is around 250ish.

I still use FB. To compare FB and Twitter is unfair. Each serves its own purpose. FB allows me to reunite with people and stay connected. Twitter lets connect with people I'll mostly likely never meet. That's not a bad thing. Either way, both allow me to interact; just in different ways.

Bravo! You make valid points about the overlapping of sub-groups and how "sharing" is tricky at best. A Facebooker must always be on the alert 1) not to confess everything in public and 2) to manage that outbox with extreme care.
Tip: Always remember those wall postings can be viewed by many eyes, so keep personal messages to pals _private_! Ditto, certain photos.
I like to think, because of Facebook, my business contacts gain a unique glimpse into my daily life. I allow it to happen, mainly because I earn my living writing creative nonfiction about my experiences on a far-flung island.

Terribly addictive, novelty still here.A couple of difficult situations..caused by lack of understanding of how the whole concept of facebook works.Has it distracted me from
important tasks, people who deserve my full attention? The answer is Yes..at some point
I may do the same! Not ready yet may require an intervention at some point or the ability to log in less.

Well put. I don't find spending time Facebook to have much value in terms of the time it sucks up. Twitter, on the other hand, I find quite useful. The people I follow form an unpaid research team, bringing me interesting things every day. Of course, I need to be careful it doesn't swallow the day, same way email can.
