New theme and an upgrade

A few days ago, I noticed that after my hosting service “upgraded” their management system that my posts here started to appear in chronological order, rather than reverse chronological order like a normal blog. Not knowing how to fix this, I decided to upgrade WordPress to version 2.3.3. This fixed the problem, though I’m still baffled how it happened, considering I literally did nothing to cause the prior weirdness.

Also, I’ve given the blog a new template. It’s the DePo Clean theme, which is a slightly more complicated version of the DePo Skinny theme, which I use a modified version of for AngryJournalist.com

I’d thought about scrapping WordPress altogether and moving everything to Tumblr, but I e-mailed Tumblr’s support desk to see if they offered a migration tool to port all my posts over. They actually replied and told me that they didn’t have that feature yet, but that my idea would be forwarded to the development people for considering. I hope they offer something like that soon, because I might actually use it.

For now, I’ll keep this blog running on WordPress. Mostly because of the categories I can use and the system of archiving is helpful. I’ve moved my del.icio.us links over to be posted into my Tumblr, since there’s no sidebar here.

I’ll be tinkering a bit with the template, probably to change typography and maybe add some color and modify the footer a bit. Other than that, I really dig this template.
