Goals for a new year
Here’s a list of things I want to accomplish this year:
1.) Do some sort of blogging daily. Either here, at Nerdlusus, or on my Tumblr. Make it more of a habit, although lately I’ve been good about keeping my del.icio.us and Twitter frequently updated.
2.) Write an essay at least once a week on a topic I find interesting here on Nerdlusus. This can be about comic books, the media, fun gadgets, a movie I adore, a personal story, attempts at cooking something new, technology, etc. I don’t write long-form anymore, and I feel that I’m a bit rusty when it comes to composing pieces about things I have a passion for.
3.) Stop being so addicted to Facebook. This will tough, I won’t lie. Also, try to make more use of LinkedIn.
4.) Contribute more to other blogs at least once every other week that I’m somewhat loosely affiliated with — Illinoize, Innovation in College Media and LameRerun.
5.) Spend at least one hour a day “out of pocket.” No BlackBerry, no Internet, no TV. Instead, spend the time reading a book.
6.) Learn to cook chicken vesuvio.
7.) Jot down more of my random thoughts and ideas on physical paper to explore them later.
8.) Begin videoblogging and get slurb.TV operational.
9.) Take more photographs. My digital camera is highly underused. By extension, use my Flickr account more.
10.) Write more thoughtful comments on my favorite blogs and websites. I hesitate to comment too much.
I think that’s a good list for now.
